Volunteering
Our Eastbourne Group is run entirely by local volunteers.
Volunteering with us is a flexible and rewarding way to use your skills, meet new people, and make a tangible difference in the lives of people affected by Parkinson’s in our area.
You don’t need direct experience with Parkinson’s to get involved - full induction, training, and ongoing guidance are provided by Parkinson’s UK. Whether you can offer two hours a month or a few hours a week, every contribution helps us keep our local support network thriving.
Current Volunteer Roles
We are always looking for enthusiastic people to join our Eastbourne team in the following capacities:
- Lead Volunteers: To work as part of the Steering Group to ensure the Eastbourne Group is successful and run in line with Parkinson's UK guidance. Some of our lead volunteers have specific portfolios such as membership, finance, working age group. Our current gaps are public relations, fundraising and we have an upcoming vacancy for Steering Group meeting administrator.
- Volunteer Supporters: Supporting events and activities on an ad hoc or longer term basis but without the commitment to run the Group. Assist in organising or supporting local fundraising events, social outings, or specialist activity groups.
- Volunteer Supporters - Group Socials: Help create a warm, friendly atmosphere at our monthly meetings by welcoming visitors and helping to serve tea and coffee. We also welcome help setting up the venue.
